How to get to Dalswinton [+]
From the South: M6, M74, A75 signed to Dumfries. When you get to the roundabout at the start of the Dumfries By-Pass, continue on the A75 and do not go into Dumfries. At the second roundabout, take the turning to the right signed Edinburgh and Glasgow A701. After approx 1 mile and just passed the Esso Petrol Station on your right, there is a road left, signed Kirkton and Auldgirth. Continue through Kirkton and after approx 3 miles, you will come to a park wall on your left. Set in the wall are a pair of lodges with white gates between them and a little further on a single lodge. Take either of the entrances and you are at Dalswinton. If you wish to continue to the village, keep on the road towards Auldgirth.
From the North: Take the M74 south and turn off at Junction 14 marked Thornhill and Drumlanrig Catsle. Travel down the impressive Dalveen Pass for approx half and hour until the road joins the A76. Turn left for Thornhill, continue through and head south for Dumfries. Afetr approx 7 miles, you will come to Auldgirth and just before the bridge over the River Nith is a sign left to Dalswinton and Kirkton. Take this turning, continue through Dalswinton Village and after 2 miles, you will see a park wall on the right. You eill come to a Single Lodge set into the wall and a little further on a pair of lodges on the right. Take either of those entrances and you are in Dalswinton.
